Practice Site Description
Reedsburg Area Medical Center offers both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. This includes 24/7 hospital coverage through in-house and remote pharmacy services, ambulatory care embedded directly in our primary care clinic, and two outpatient pharmacies.
Learning Experiences
Residents will gain competencies primarily through longitudinal learning experiences designed to provide them a broad knowledge base critical for rural pharmacy practice.

Note: Other elective learning experiences may be developed based on resident interest and preceptor availability.
A Day in the Life of a Resident
Residents will gain a comprehensive overview of rural healthcare, spending time in various areas of the health system including:
- Diabetes Education Pharmacist Based Clinic
- Chronic Care Management Pharmacist Based Clinic
- Medical-Surgical Unit
- Intensive and Intermediate Care Unit
- Birth Center
- Emergency Department and Walk-In Care
- Outpatient Pharmacies
- Senior Life Center
- Primary Care and Specialty Clinics
Residents will also have project days scheduled at least once a month and will also work on small projects relevant and interesting to the many areas they are embedded in. This include journal clubs, topic discussions, diabetes interdisciplinary care meetings, drug utilization reviews, population health projects, and others.

If you are interested in both programs at RAMC, you must apply separately under each program code.
Applicants MUST meet the following requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school or FPGEC certificate from NABP
- Five year pharmacy program, at minimum
- Eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of Wisconsin
- Be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S.
- Registration with the ASHP matching program
